Original Purpose

CodeSavant was a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to provide code manipulation, execution, and version control capabilities to AI assistants. It allowed reading, writing, and executing code while maintaining a history of changes.

Why This Project is No Longer Needed

Recent advances in coding agents have made this MCP server redundant. Modern coding agents now include built-in capabilities for: - Direct file manipulation with diff editing - Multi-language code execution - Version control and change tracking - Shell command execution - All the features this server provided
