Intro
git-lrc reviews commit diffs before they land.
AI coding tools increase speed, but they also increase the risk of silent regressions. git-lrc adds a commit-time review gate that helps you catch risky changes while context is still fresh.
Why Teams Use It
- AI agents can silently remove logic.
- Review can happen too late when done only in PR.
- Commit-time checks encourage consistent habits.
- Git-level integration works across editors and IDEs.
What You Get
- AI-powered inline review comments on diffs.
- Review summary and issue navigation.
- Review decisions tracked in git log (
ran, vouched, skipped). - Iteration and coverage tracking for auditability.
Decision Modes
| Mode | What happens | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
review | AI reviews staged changes | default path |
vouch | skip AI, take explicit responsibility | after enough iterations |
skip | skip AI and attestation | low-risk or exceptional commits |
What Data Is Sent
Only the staged diff is analyzed. Full repository context is not uploaded for review, and diffs are not persisted after review according to project documentation.
